Frosted Swirl offers over 50 different varieties that can be special ordered and delivered to your next big event! Valerie Hansen is the owner and head baker and her passion for baking shows in her creative creations. Baked fresh to order, Valerie makes all of her cupcakes and frostings from scratch. I’ve had the pleasure of tasting her cupcakes at many events and let me tell you, they are truly amazing!! Can you say Maple bacon??!! Oh my!! Let’s here what Valerie has to say…

What made you start Frosted Swirl Cupcakes?

Baking in the kitchen by my mother’s side is something I can remember clearly and have always cherished. Before each holiday party and family gathering, we spent days creating all kinds of desserts, breads and entrees for everyone to enjoy. Looking back on it now, it’s obvious which things I loved to make and eat the most… DESSERTS!!

As I got older, I dreamed of turning that passion into a career. After realizing my cupcakes were unlike any we could buy, I knew that this was the path to follow. I had something different than most; traditional cake and frosting recipes that were handed down through my family, paired with the new and creative flavors I love to invent. I knew that my cupcakes would stand out even more by committing to baking with the highest quality ingredients, sourced from local farmers and businesses whenever possible. Last but not least, my plan consisted of making my business mobile so I could bring my creations directly to my customers.

In 2011, with the help of willing taste testers, the wheels were put in motion and a menu was developed. Today, Frosted Swirl offers over 50 cupcake flavors and counting. I keep the options fresh and exciting, often in conjunction with holidays and the change of seasons.

What types of events do people typically order for?

Frosted Swirl Cupcakes is a sweet addition to any celebration. Our cupcakes help make lasting and delicious memories at birthday parties, graduation parties, grand openings, corporate events, weddings and showers. What I love most about my job is being able to be a part of people’s special events and memories in their lives. I’ve met some amazing people and have formed many lasting friendships with my customers.
