“When I met Erin from the Boylston Rooms, an industrial modern venue in Easthampton, Massachusetts, I knew I wanted to create something visually stunning in her space. While brainstorming for the shoot I wanted to design something different that would showcase the space in a few different ways to really inspire others. The old industrial textile mill with its original hard wood floors, mismatched windows and white walls allowed for a special style which is why I designed three looks that could live separately and together.
The ceremony; simple, modern, and feminine set the scene for a fairy goddess. The reception; played beautifully with the soft and natural elements and the bold berry tones to provide a romantic and organic industrial feel for that special princess bride. And finally the cocktail hour, which worked well to tie in the modern and romantic themes with a touch of rustic. Overall my goal was to create multiple looks so brides could be inspired and not pigeonholed to one “industrial” look. You can make industrial; modern, or romantic, or rustic… with the right vision and perfect elements.”

I love how very different each of these looks (ceremony, reception, cocktail hour) are on their own, but also how well all three mesh beautifully together! Cara did an amazing job styling this shoot. No detail was forgotten! Let’s start with the ceremony… I think this was my favorite part of the shoot. I LOVE bright white spaces and this style was so simple & romantic.
The Ceremony
The Reception
Bold color mixed with metal touches bring this modern industrial wedding inspiration to life! And the natural elements tie it all together for a romantic feel.
Cocktail Hour
I was in awe at how incredible this setup looked! Not to mention, it was later in the day & the light was just amazing out on the patio area. From the fresh fruit to the beautifully displayed cocktails.. it was like something out of a magazine! I’m pretty sure any bride would swoon over this cocktail hour setup.
Cara showcased each element of a wedding day (Ceremony, Reception, & Cocktail Hour), but in three very different looks to appeal to different brides’ styles & personalities. Also to show that “Industrial” doesn’t always have to mean “moody”, which seems to be the biggest trend. This inspiring shoot shows that you can take one style and make that one style romantic, rustic, or modern and make it your own.
As always, I can’t forget to thank all of the wonderful vendors who helped pull this Modern Industrial Inspiration shoot together! And many special thanks to our models as well!
