Tucked away in the countryside of central Massachusetts is a hidden gem of a wedding venue – Zukas Hilltop Barn!

Zukas is located in Spencer, MA and set upon a private peaceful country location with breathtaking views. It’s a perfect venue for couples who are looking to incorporate the outdoors into their wedding! Zukas has been on my wedding venue bucket list for awhile and I finally shot my first wedding here this past September!

The Grounds

As a natural light photographer, the first thing that I look at in a venue is the outdoor space. One of my top priorities is to make sure there is an area (hopefully a few different areas) to take portraits and capture candid’s. And let me tell you, the grounds at Zukas Hilltop Barn are nothing short of gorgeous. If you’re a nature lover like me and your dream wedding includes beautiful scenery, Zukas has it. There are so many places to take portraits, depending on the time of day and the lighting, the possibilities are endless! The rock wall, the flower garden, the acres and acres of manicured lawn or even pond-side. Its super picturesque and wedding guests always seem to be impressed with just the scenery alone!

One Location

It’s no secret, I’m all about the convenience of having your wedding day all in one location. (Read my blog post The Benefits of Having Your Wedding in One Location to find out why!!) While my most recent bride and groom had a beautiful church ceremony, anyone planning an outdoor wedding ceremony may reserve the Gazebo overlooking the a gorgeous view surrounding Zukas Hilltop Barn. Zukas also offers an on-property bridal suite for getting ready, which my bride took advantage of before heading to her ceremony.

There are two places to host your reception at Zukas depending on the time of year you’re getting married. Spring, summer and fall weddings are held under the gorgeous white tent that overlooks the pond and grounds. The tent is huge and can easily accommodate large weddings. Winter weddings at Zukas are held in the rustic barn. Another reason why Zukas is great is because they only allow one event per day. You’ll get their undivided attention – exactly what you deserve on your wedding day and you won’t have to share the grounds with another wedding party.

I really enjoyed shooting my very first wedding at Zukas Hilltop Barn! My couples coordinator, Alison, not only has a great name (wink wink), but she was very accommodating for both my couple and myself while there. Working with a fantastic venue is key to a wedding day running smoothly and Zukas definitely nailed it. I’m looking forward to many more weddings days ahead at Zukas!
