My new favorite thing to shoot are Studio Maternity Sessions!

If you know me, you know I’m a natural light girl. I love the window light in my studio and use it a ton for my boudoir work. So why not a Studio Maternity Session?? I think the female form is a beautiful thing, whether it’s a senior portrait session, bridal portraits, a maternity session or boudoir. I just LOVE photographing women!

Since my worlds kind of cross-over a bit, I’ve started venturing into the world of indoor maternity sessions and I’m loving the results!

Full Circle Moment

I met Brooke over 10 years ago when I was pregnant with my daughter. We met through Facebook because we had a mutual friend and we were both in the beginning stages of our photography businesses. While I was pregnant, she helped me out with weddings and also photographed my maternity session. We’ve created a great friendship over the years and I am always referring to her as my “work wife” or “photog bestie”. We’ve been through LOTS of adventures together, both professionally and personally.

Well I finally got to return the favor and photograph her maternity session. Her last pregnancy. Kind of ironic.

Studio Maternity Session

When chatting with Brooke about doing a maternity session for her, we decided we’d have her come in to my studio to play with the window light and make use of some my gowns. We combined our creative brains and created images we both love! The contrast of dark and light is so great and I’m super happy with what we were able to capture.
