Stonehurst at Hampton Valley has been on my wedding venue bucket list for ages!! I am so happy I finally got to photograph a wedding here! StoneHurst is an unforgettable event venue in Northeastern Connecticut. They have two venues for weddings – The Barns and the Mansion. There is tons of space on their property to host both and you never feel like you are bumping into one another! Katrina & Jake opted for the Barns since they were looking for a barn venue and loved the fact that it was a one stop shop for venue, food, and bar!

Katrina & Jake’s Wedding Day!

This wedding has been a long time coming! Katrina & Jake met the summer going into Middle School and after 8 years together, Jake brought Katrina to Acadia, Maine, proposing overlooking The Otter Cliffs! Totally fitting since they love spending time outside going to the lake, hanging out at a bon fire, and driving around in Jake’s trucks!

I thoroughly enjoyed working with these two – starting off with their engagement session. They are my people. Outdoorsy. Laid-back. Go with the flow! We definitely had lots of laughs!

Their wedding day also did not disappoint! Katrina was the most easy-going bride I’ve had in awhile! Neither her or Jake thought twice about the little mix up that happened during their ceremony – they kissed before they exchanged rings. Totally not a big deal and now they have a funny story to tell! Plus they got to kiss twice! HA! It’s so important to laugh little things like this off – and they did!

Yep, that’s me on the end! A little side story is that I met Katrina while she worked at Small World – my kid’s preschool. Jake’s mom is actually the owner and the rest of these lovely ladies are all part of the Small World team. Both of my kiddos went to Small World, so it was such a pleasure to be a part of this special day and catch up with these ladies who were a big part of my kids lives.
