Some love stories feel like fate. And sometimes, so do the weddings! Arianna and Simon’s September 5th elopement at the Drake Hill Flower Bridge in Simsbury, Connecticut was one of those rare moments that seemed destined from the start.
Here’s the wild part: I met Arianna’s mom completely by accident. Within a week, the entire plan fell into place. Talk about serendipity! ?
The Drake Hill Bridge
The Drake Hill Bridge is one of Simsbury’s hidden gems. This historic iron truss bridge blooms with vibrant flowers all summer long, and it created the perfect backdrop for Arianna and Simon’s vows. With just 20 of their closest family and friends gathered around, the ceremony was short, sweet, and overflowing with love.
After a round of joyful family photos, I whisked the couple away for portraits of just the two of them. As a Connecticut elopement photographer, these quiet in-between moments are some of my favorites to capture.
Why Elope in Connecticut?
For couples seeking intimacy without sacrificing beauty, Connecticut delivers endless outdoor elopement options. From cozy seaside towns to sweeping mountain views—and of course, picturesque landmarks like Simsbury’s flower bridge—you don’t have to travel far to discover the perfect setting.
A few perks of eloping outdoors in CT:
- Seasonal beauty: Spring blossoms, lush summer greens, fiery fall foliage, and romantic winter snow.
- Historic charm: Covered bridges, quaint town greens, and timeless architecture.
- Flexibility: Elopements are low-stress, letting you focus on what truly matters—your love.
Arianna & Simon’s Day Was Pure Fate
To me, it feels like the universe nudged this day into being. From that chance meeting with Arianna’s mom to the way everything came together in less than a week, it was living proof that not all weddings require months of planning—sometimes they simply unfold exactly as they’re meant to.
Arianna and Simon’s day reminded me that love doesn’t need a grand stage. Sometimes, all it takes is a bridge, a river, and the people who matter most.
