If you’ve recently gotten engaged, and you’re thinking about where you want to have your wedding, read this! There are so many options for wedding venues, it can be overwhelming to choose one. Many venues offer a ceremony space as well as a reception space. Traditionally, the wedding ceremony and the reception are held in two different locations. Two locations may work for some weddings but I’ve had more and more couples decide to have their wedding in one location and I think it’s AWESOME. There are many benefits to holding your ceremony and reception in one location that you might not be thinking about. Having your wedding in one location can be less stressful, less expensive and result in better documentation than a traditional wedding. Here’s how!
Less Stress
I’ll be the first to admit, planning a wedding can be super stressful. There are so many moving parts between the bridal party, guests, flowers, photographer, DJ, caterer, the list goes on. Having your wedding in one location means your guests (and vendors) won’t have to travel. Traveling in between two locations can be a total headache for some. And then there’s also the chance that you’ll have a long stretch in between the ceremony and the reception. A wedding in one location will lessen the chances for your guests to get lost or arrive late to your reception. They can arrive at the ceremony and not leave until the reception is over. Having your wedding in one location means guests can enjoy a less stressful, more enjoyable day!
Save Money
A wedding can be crazy expensive. Most likely you’ve already set a budget and you’ll do your best to stick to it. Having your wedding in one location means you won’t have to pay for two spaces and the rental fees that could go along with them. Even places of worship can require a donation for use of their facilities. You’ll also be able to save on transportation needs from the ceremony to the reception. If the venue you’ve chosen has an area to get ready, you probably could eliminate formal transportation all together. Which means more money for you to spend on your honeymoon!!!!
Better Documentation of Your Day
As a photographer, I LOVE when my couples have their wedding in one location. For me it means I’ll be able to document your day better. With no travel time in between the ceremony and reception, I’ll be able to get all your formal portraits done immediately following the ceremony. Which means you’ll have more time to spend getting your dance on with your guests!
Having your wedding in one location might not work for you, but if you’re on the fence, I hope you found this helpful! If you are looking for one venue that will host both the ceremony & reception, check out some of these venues I highly recommend!
