Some weddings don’t go according to plan—and thank goodness for that. Because sometimes, Plan B brings the kind of beauty you can’t script. That’s exactly what happened for Beth & Jude’s Intimate Northfield Elopement.

Beth & Jude dreamed of saying “I do” in the comfort of their own backyard in Northfield, Massachusetts. Tucked among the trees and flowers, it made perfect sense to start their married life right there.

But as any New Englander knows, Mother Nature has a flair for drama. On the morning of their wedding, the skies opened up and the outdoor ceremony they envisioned had to shift inside, quickly! And yet… there was magic in the change. Because every great wedding day has a story to tell.

With a small number of their closest people gathered tightly indoors, the ceremony became cozier, more intimate, and unexpectedly tender. Raindrops tapped gently on the windows as Beth & Jude exchanged vows, the kind that make your heart feel too big for your chest. You could feel the love in the room. Soft, steady, and full of gratitude.

Then, just as the ceremony wrapped, a break in the rain gave us the sweetest gift: a chance to sneak outside for portraits. The trees glistened, the grass shimmered, and Beth & Jude, wrapped in each other’s arm, looked like they were in a dream.

There’s something about post-rain light that feels sacred. And there’s something about this couple that feels the same.

Beth & Jude are the kind of people who radiate kindness. They’re gentle with each other, generous with those around them, and impossibly sweet. Their wedding day wasn’t what they expected, but in every way that mattered, it was exactly what it should have been.

A little rain. A lot of love.
