Devil’s Hopyard State Park Engagement | Abby & Aaron

This Devil’s Hopyard State Park Engagement Session finally was a go after some rescheduling.

Originally Abby & Aaron were supposed to have a winter engagement session at Valley View Farm, but we had to postpone when I ended up with Covid after the holidays (Merry Christmas to me!) and then Aaron had work obligations.

So onto a new spring session! Our new scheduled April session date didn’t line up well with Valley View’s wedding schedule so we decided to shift locations. Abby & Aaron are both from Plymouth, so I wanted to offer them a location that I was familiar with, was outdoorsy, and was in between both me & them. Abby chose Devil’s Hopyard after looking at some of my past galleries (Check out this Elopement couple I blogged about recently).

Often times, a couple’s engagement session is the first time I’m getting to work with them. And that first time working together is super important, since their wedding comes next. It’s the best way they can get to know me, how it feels to be in front of my camera and see how I work. Also, they get experience how I’m more than just their photographer. From helping out with location selection to wardrobe, I’m here for it all! And guess what? there’s no one way or “right way” to do it — it’s all about capturing your moments. Some couples like to change it up during their session and wear two different outfits, usually one dressy and one casual look. We normally start with the dressier outfit first and go from there. But if they’d rather one outfit, that’s fine too! It’s all about you!

I had a blast with Abby & Aaron! They laughed and referred to themselves as “goofy”, which I loved because they were being themselves! They made my job easy.

I can’t wait until their wedding at Valley View this September. See you soon, you two!
