Over the past 10 years of shooting weddings, I’ve had the honor of photographing some pretty amazing clients at some pretty amazing venues. Olivia & Pat’s wedding last month was one of those weddings!!! They’re a beautiful down-to-earth couple who chose the gorgeous Hildene estate in Manchester, VT to host their simple yet elegant wedding of 170 guests. And boy am I glad they chose me as their wedding photographer!!

Olivia had found my work through Honey Hair & Beauty’s website (I’ve recently photographed a few brides who’ve used this awesome local company!). When she first reached out to me to see if I’d be willing to travel to VT for her wedding, I was super excited. I love destination weddings and I absolutely love love love Vermont!! My family and I vacation there every summer! I hadn’t heard of the Hildene but as soon as I did a quick search, I was even more excited. The Hildene is a magical place. An outdoor wedding photographers dream come true! The estate is truly gorgeous and the grounds are immaculate with incredibly manicured gardens that have the most breathtaking views of the Taconic and Green Mountains.

Hildene Wedding

Olivia and Pat currently live in Atlanta but chose to have their wedding in Vermont where her parents have a home. Luckily for them, they had an easy time picking their venue. Last summer, Olivia was vacationing in Vermont with her parents and they went to the Hildene to tour the museum and grounds. While in the gift shop, a woman asked Olivia if she was the bride that she was supposed to be meeting. Olivia (who wasn’t yet engaged) told her no, but the woman offered to show her eager mother (hahaha) some details about the Hildene as a wedding venue. It just so happened that one week later, while on a sunset run, Pat proposed on the beach! Naturally, the Hildene was fresh in Olivia’s memory and her first choice! And then everything just fell into place.
