Why is Summer a good time for Senior Portraits?

Summer is a GREAT time for a senior portrait session! Everything is green and alive, flowers are typically blooming, and there are so many great location options – fields, farms, parks, or the beach! (Ask me about my location suggestions – I’d be happy to help!) Summer is also great for wearing sundresses and casual attire. Lastly, summer is easier for scheduling purposes. Doing your portrait session before school & sports start back up again makes it easier to schedule, with more options for availability. I’m sure everyone knows how busy things get again once September hits!

Paige – Class of 2025

I met Paige’s mom years ago while my daughter was attending Valley PreSchool in Granby, CT. We had just moved to town and didn’t know too many people. Valley was such a great little school and probably one of the best decisions we made after moving here. We met so many people while there and formed some really great friendships with other parents. It feels like it was just yesterday, but that was almost 9 years ago!! So when Paige’s mom reached out a few months ago for senior photos, I recognized the name, but wasn’t sure she remembered who I was – but she did!

Look how quickly time goes!! Her first daughter is off to her Senior Year in the fall! Holy cow!

Northwest Park, Windsor CT

Paige chose Northwest Park in Windsor, CT after I sent her some location ideas. Northwest Park is such a great location because there are a variety of spots for different background options. It has that park feel, but also rustic and farm-like with tobacco barns and fields of tall grass. This location is a great option in the summertime or fall!
