I love backyard weddings because they add so much personalization to your wedding day. And this Southwick MA backyard wedding was no different!

Mackenzie and Chris had been together for 11 years after meeting on eHarmony. On Christmas morning, after promising not to exchange any gifts, Chris popped the question! I mean, if you’re going to give a gift after saying you wouldn’t, go big or go home, right??

As with many of my couples over the past few years, Covid shaped the way they planned their wedding day. Mackenzie and Chris knew if they chose a small backyard wedding, their big day would happen no matter what. And with the help of Tanya Costigan of Tanya Costigan Events, it turned out beautifully!

As with any outdoor wedding, you always take a gamble with the weather. July can certainly cause some issues with thunderstorms. But not this time! Check out those blue skies with just the right amount of cloud cover. It was definitely a HOT one, but that didn’t stop this couple! And I am in love with that sky as night fell. The tent just glowed. I’m also a sucker for super fun shoes like Converse on the wedding day, so I adored the coordinating sneakers the wedding party all had. An awesome touch!
