While the guest count wasn’t tiny, Chelsea & Evan’s Backyard Wedding in Southwick MA can be described as intimate and FULL of their personal touches!
Chelsea’s Words
When I asked Chelsea about certain aspects of her planning, here’s what she had to say:
“Our hope for the day is to get people together to celebrate and feel relaxed. We did not feel like an indoor or commercial venue would provide the flexibility and comfort needed for everyone to let their hair down.” She also said, “The restaurant that played a key role in our meeting is doing the catering; we are getting flowers from a flower farm that hosted our daughter for a mini internship last summer; our day-of coordinator was one of our daughter’s preschool teachers, but now a close friend of the family; our DJ is a friend from high school; Evan’s mom did our alterations; our venue is Evan’s parent’s home; my hair stylist is a former student from my first year teaching; my best friend will be marrying us; and even the rental company ended up being family members of my first boss as a highschooler.”
When it came to hiring a photographer, her biggest thing was connection. My studio is about a mile from their house, so she reached out! I knew when we chatted that Chelsea’s chill vibe would be a great match with mine. And the rest is history! Side note: I too had my wedding reception at Tucker’s restaurant!
Three cheers for all the great vendors that helped make Chelsea & Evan’s wedding day great!

You cannot solidify a marriage until you shotgun beers during your ceremony! This is my new favorite thing!
