Earlier this summer I had the honor of photographing the wedding of Becca & Joey at the beautiful Valley View Farm in Haydenville, MA. I’ve known Becca’s family for years, her brother and sister-in-law were my very first wedding!!! So I was honored when after all these years, Becca chose me as her wedding photographer too. Last summer I reconnected with this all American couple when I shot their patriotic engagement session at Noble View (view their engagement session here). They’re just so stinkin cute together!

Valley View Farm

If you’re looking for a rustic yet elegant wedding venue, you’ve got to check out Valley View Farm. The farm features a completely restored 19th century barn that has been modernized to host weddings. I absolutely love shooting weddings at this venue, I’ve shot here multiple times so I’m very familiar with the grounds and the layout. The outdoor spaces here are a photographers dream and the owners Suzy and David have done an amazing job making everything look picture perfect.

The Day

In the days leading up to the wedding, Becca & her mom were worried about heat… well, because mother nature is the crazy lady she is, it actually turned out to be a fairly cool June day. The forecast called for showers, but luckily the rain held off and we were able to get some amazing outdoor shots. Because I’m a natural light photographer, overcast skies make for some pretty great even light!

Becca and Joey had their outdoor wedding ceremony under the Pavilion, a restored barn with 4 completely open sides so the natural light is abundant! I’ve said it before but outdoor ceremonies are my favorite!

Reception décor was rustic chic and done to perfection! With vibrant sunflower and hydrangea centerpieces by Durocher Florist, crisp lace and navy linens and so many added rustic details. Guests found their seats by taking a packet of sunflower seeds all hand written with their names.

One of my favorites, Gary S. Jones was DJing and had no problems getting the guests up and dancing! And those cupcakes… once again Pete’s Sweets nailed it! YUMM!!!

Congratulations Becca & Joey! Your wedding was gorgeous just like the two of you and I loved working with you! I wish you nothing but happiness in your new life together!
