A Western MA Elopement does NOT need to be at a courthouse. There. I said it. Even if it is raining!
In all seriousness, there is no judgement if you get married at a courthouse. Everyone should get married the way they want. I am just bias because I love outdoor elopements! Photographing an outdoor wedding – large or small – is my specialty!
One of the key things about a wedding day is that you always have to be prepared for any curve balls that are thrown your way. Danielle & Michael’s elopement was no different. Their plans evolved over time and then changed entirely at the last minute due to weather. You have to make a choice – get upset or just roll with the punches. Danielle & Michael chose to roll with the punches. And their wedding day ended up being just perfect because of it!
Rainy Day Elopement
The weather was not ideal. It was wet. Like downpour wet. But rain doesn’t ever scare me! And I’m glad it didn’t scare Danielle either because I really love their after ceremony portraits! The images perfectly portray their rainy day Spring elopement. Umbrellas and all!
Danielle & Michael had to change their location at the last minute due to rain. They ended up having their ceremony under a tent in Danielle’s dad’s backyard overlooking the pond. And look how pretty it is!
We walked along this grassy trail to take some photos by the pond and I am in love with all the green! Things were coming alive again in the forest and it was beautiful.
Cheers to the happy couple!
An elopement can look however you want it to – there are no rules! For instance, check out this Waterfall Elopement! Most elopements I have photographed have 0 to 10 guests. This allows you to really focus on what’s important. Each other and celebrating with your loved ones!
