Any season can be great for a natural light photographer, but a winter maternity session has some real standouts. To start with, the landscape is always a little bare. How is that a good thing, you might ask? Well, it keeps things simple and lets the emphasis land totally on the subject I’m photographing! And well gosh, is there anything better than a gorgeous sunset reflecting off a frozen pond??!! Ummm just see for yourself!
Martina chose this gorgeous blue velvet gown with peacock feather accents for her session, which I loved for a few reasons. Jewel tones always pop this time of year and photograph beautifully; but also, this gown and especially the peacock feathers are just SO her! The most important thing about taking photos is staying true to yourself and your style.
I know I’ve mentioned it before, but it’s worth repeating … I’m always happy to chat wardrobe ideas and offer anything that I have in the Alison Marie Photography client closet. I make sure to have some options on hand, which can be especially useful for maternity sessions, when your body is always changing. And sometimes it’s just nice to have choices!
I had soooo many favorites from this shoot. It was hard to choose what to post! Check em out!
Congratulations on your expected little one Martina and Ed!
