A Growing Family | Farmington Valley CT Maternity

Catching up on sharing my shoots from this past fall with this Farmington Valley Maternity session!

I had the pleasure of once again photographing the beautiful journey of a family that holds a special place in my heart. This soon-to-be family of four, has allowed me to document their love story since their engagement in 2015, through their wedding day in 2016, their daughters birth in 2020, and now as they eagerly anticipate the arrival of their baby boy.

It’s super humbling that more than 50% of my wedding couples come back to me for their future photography needs. The familiarity and comfort that come with photographing a family over the years allows for a seamless and genuine experience. Plus there’s nothing more amazing than watching my clients grow and following along in their journey!

A Maternity Session in Farmington Valley, CT

I shoot in this location in Farmington Valley often. It’s my go-to for a simple backdrop all times of the year! I love the woodsy vibe and tall grass. Even though it was late fall, the colors were still popping and It was the perfect spot for this quick 30 minute maternity session.

Tips for Dressing Your Body for a Maternity Session

Dressing for a maternity photo session is a wonderful opportunity to showcase your unique style while celebrating the beauty of your pregnancy. Here are some tips to help you choose the perfect outfits for your maternity session:

Opt for outfits that highlight and accentuate your baby bump. Form-fitting dresses or tops that gently hug your curves can be flattering and emphasize the beauty of your pregnancy.

Solid colors, especially darker ones, tend to be slimming and can create a timeless look. Avoid large and distracting patterns that might take attention away from your belly. Simple, small-scale patterns can work well.

Consider the season – If your maternity session is taking place in the fall, for example, you might want to incorporate seasonal colors or textures into your outfit. Layers and cozy fabrics can add warmth during cooler weather.
