Birthdays aren’t what they used to be

As you get older, birthdays start to not matter as much as they used to. Especially once you have kids. I’m lucky I can even remember how old I am these days!

My birthday sort of snuck up on me. As soon as June hits, I feel like things just get chaotic with weddings & people wanting to do outdoor photos, so I ended up kind of forgetting about my birthday this year! Whoops! My mom & I share a birthday, so we always try to spend some time together on our actual day. This year wasn’t any different, but we had NO IDEA what we were going to do until pretty much the night before. It’s standard protocol to start the day with a little Beatles “birthday” & then we settled on coffee & a walk through Stanley Park with the peanut. The weather worked out in our favor & we had a really nice walk! Stanley Park is such a beautiful little gem in the midst of Westfield. I even checked off #100 on my 101 in 1001 list! Feeding the ducks with Cailyn! She LOVED it and even tried to make friends with a squirrel! 😀

Later, my hubby & I got to go out for an adults only dinner at one of my favorite restaurants, J.Gilberts. GO NOW, you’ll thank me later! 😉

In the end, I couldn’t have asked for a better birthday! It was such a relaxing day & I got to spend it with my most favorite people! Happy Birthday to all of my fellow Geminis out there!
