Tell us a little about yourself. What inspired the start of Embark Films?
I was always a daydreamer. I would just create unrealistic, dramatic scenarios in my head every day. To be honest, I wasn’t raised in a loving family and my life was sad. Life was just more exciting in my mind and daydreaming and playing outside helped me escape my family troubles . You can say daydreaming kept me sane. After picking up a camera for the first time and finding out what editing was, I realized my visions can become reality. The combination of cinematics, music, and life, became an addiction. Ever since then, I never stopped creating films. I didn’t care if I was being paid or not, if I had a chance to create something, I took it.
A shorter answer would be; I was tired of really boring and lame wedding films that couples would receive and so I would create something a little more dramatic. Every couple has an amazing story and every wedding day is beautiful and special, filmmakers should start acting like it.
What do you love about weddings?
Relationships are beautiful. Don’t you ever wonder how two people met? What’s their story? What were the moments that led them to their wedding day? It’s exciting to sit down witha couple and just listen. You hear beautiful stories, dramatic stories, sad stories, all types of stories, and I truly believe it’s important to document and share these stories. This led to creating my company Embark Films where I mentor multiple aspiring videographers and am working relentlessly to create a company that truly values people, their lives, and their stories.
What makes Embark Films stand out from other videographers?
In our films, you can literally see how our minds work. From the choice of music to the style of shooting, you see life through our eyes. So I would say our company stands out because we create films that come from what we felt on your wedding day. The real thing. We aren’t trying to create a cookie cutter films for couples. We are trying to create a film that captivates that atmosphere of your wedding and a film that actually makes you feel something.
What’s one thing you want your clients to know about your company?
For people looking to book our services, I would want them to know that they are in good hands. Our company cares about the entire filming and editing process. We go the extra mile to create something that will not only WOW you but give you something to look back on for generations to come. We truly care about creating a film that represents the bond between you two.
