This Enders Falls maternity session was a great way to start off a new year!

We tried holding out for some snow for Sarah and Alex’s session, but of course mother nature had her own plans! With Sarah due in February with her first child, we didn’t want to wait any longer in case the little one decided to surprise them early… because you never know with babies! We headed out to Enders Falls in Granby, CT the first weekend in January, making it my very first session of 2021! Whooo! LET’S GOOO!

Sarah and I were connected through multiple people, but she found her way to me by way of my hairstylist (her best friend)!! Heather has been doing my hair for like ten years, and actually styled Sarah’s hair for this shoot! (Isn’t that red just gorgeous?!) We also had another connection that we didn’t realize – like the fact that Alex is practically related to my husband by marriage (they share a mutual aunt)! It’s always a small world isn’t?!

What to Wear

Deciding what to wear for maternity photos can be so hard! You want just the right color and silhouette. You want something that’s both flattering and shows off your pregnant figure in all the right ways. I loved Sarah’s gown that she chose for her maternity session! Not only does the emerald color look STUNNING with her beautiful red hair, but it also was the perfect color to pose in Enders Falls. It popped against the muted tones of the rocks and wintry trees, but wasn’t so bright that it overshadowed Sarah. It was a perfect choice!
