I’ve been photographing weddings for 10 years and every time I get an inquiry from a wedding couple for a place I haven’t been to yet, I get excited! Don’t get me wrong, I love the local venues I often shoot at, but there’s something new and exciting about a place I’ve never been to before. There are so many amazing venues and destinations to get married at. I hope to be able to shoot weddings at a number of them over the next 10+ years of my career! I’ve been thinking about the top places I’ve wanted to shoot at but haven’t yet had the chance. Here’s my bucket list of the top 7 wedding destinations on my radar!
Lake Willoughby, VT
My family has been vacationing here for 50+ years. We go every year as a large family group. It’s beautiful and shooting a wedding in one of my favorite places would be amazing!
Coastal Maine
Pretty much anywhere along Maine’s rocky coastline. The scenery is just beautiful and Maine has always had a special place in my heart. Earlier this year I had the opportunity to do a styled elopement photo shoot at Acadia National Park…. the views were ahhhhmazing!!!! I would love to shoot at Acadia or anywhere along the coast again!
Chatham Bars Inn, Chatham, Cape Cod
I remember when I first started my photography business & I was at the Cape with my husband. We drove by the Chatham Bars Inn on our way to the pier. I said to myself “someday I want to shoot a wedding there” and it has just always stuck with me. Honestly, I’d be happy with any spot at the Cape!
Lighthouse Point Park, New Haven, CT
I came across a photo taken at Lighthouse Point Park on IG and instantly fell in love with the location. I’ve never actually been there, but there is a beach & a lighthouse.. Need I say more??
The Inn at the Round Barn Farm, Waitsfield, VT
My cousin was married at The Inn at the Round Barn Farm & it’s a gorgeous location, right near Sugarbush and Stowe!! It quickly made my bucket list once I saw it! The outdoor ceremony space and grounds are beautiful and the barn has a rustic yet romantic feel – pure Vermont!!
Martha’s Vineyard or Nantucket
Are you sensing a theme here?? Give me all of the beach weddings!! Hahahaha! There’s just something special about shooting a wedding with sand under your toes and a sea breeze blowing through your hair.
Sedona, AZ
If you’ve ever been to Sedona, you’ll know why this destination is on my wedding bucket list!! The red rocks, views, & scenery are just breathtaking! Sure, its not located anywhere near where I live, but of course I’d be willing to travel!! I’ve been twice and the trip is TOTALLY worth it!
If you’re in search of a photographer for your outdoor wedding, I’d love to chat! Especially if its at one of the above locations!! 🙂
