Taylor & Tyler’s Connecticut engagement is on the blog today! I just love when I get to follow a couple’s whole journey! I first met this sweet couple when I captured Tyler’s surprise proposal that I blogged about last year. So when they followed up and asked me to be their wedding photographer too, I couldn’t wait! They chose Old Newgate Prison in East Granby for their engagement session, which is a super cool spot. There is a little bit of everything with gorgeous rock walls, rustic wooden doors, tons of woodsy greenery, and an AMAZING view! Definitely check this spot out at sunset!
The mine/prison is typically closed when I do sessions here (someday I’ll check out the inside!), but there’s plenty to work with in the outdoor yard area! I utilized every possible spot for their session… the side yard, the rock walls & stairs, even the barn across the street! And I must say, the sun peeking through the leaves was pretty magical!
It might be me, but I love the look of old, rustic, outdoorsy locations. The combination of the lush greenery with the rock walls and some awesome sunlight makes me a happy photographer!
Congratulations guys!! Looking forward to the next stage in your journey – YOUR WEDDING!! at Wood Acres Farm in August! YAY!
