Harkness Memorial Park | Brittany & Cody

Brittany and Cody’s Harkness Memorial Park engagement session is what happens when you have a super cool couple who rolls with it. These two were originally going to get married in June at Valley View Farm but — don’t know if you’ve heard — 2020 was kind of a crazy year. With Covid restrictions and the chaotic wedding rescheduling issues, they pushed back their date to September and changed their venue to the Log Cabin’s Upper Vista to allow for a totally outdoor experience.

But! All the 2020 nonsense did not get in the way of a totally awesome engagement session. Brittany had a vision of a beach engagement session, so I suggested Harkness Memorial Park. It’s one of my favorite places to do a session because you truly get the best of both worlds. I’m all about a windswept New England coast. I love the contrast of the rocky beach against the soft grassy dunes. But I can also totally get on board with the elegance of the tall stone pillars of the Eolia Mansion, which sits on top of the most gorgeous lawn, overlooking the Long Island Sound. We had a decent amount of cloud cover, which actually made for some cool images of the water almost blending into the sky.

The real stars of the session, though, were Brittany and Cody. With all my 2020 couples went through, they deserve all the happiness! Congrats, you two, I can’t wait until September!
