New England Winter Engagement Session | Rachel & Colin

Oh how I love a good ol’ New England Winter Engagement session!

Rachel has been following me for years. Like literally years. She went to high school with my little brother and started following me back when I did his senior portraits (class of 2014. WHAT?!). Now, here we are 7 years later and high school sweethearts, Rachel & Colin are getting married!

Mary Edwards Mountain Property

I was super excited when they said they wanted to do a winter engagement session. If you follow me, then you know how much I love to shoot outdoors, even in the winter! There is just something about snow on the ground that makes for fun photos (bonus if it’s actually snowing during a session)! Rachel & Colin didn’t have a specific location in mind for their session, so I suggested Mary Edwards Property in Granby, CT. Mary Edwards property has a beautiful view and a bunch of different trails to enjoy any time of the year, but I mostly chose it because of the view, accessibility, and the various elements I could incorporate into the photos (the view, the pond, the woods, a rockwall, etc).

Bringing little items with you, like a blanket, champagne & glasses (and in this case – coffee mugs!) is a great way to enhance your photos and make them a bit more personal. The more the two of you can “do” something together, the more natural your photos will be.

Rachel & Colin were so much fun during their session! They were willing to laugh, get snuggly, and just be themselves! This is honestly and truly all you need to do during your session and your images will always turn out great.

Congratulations on your engagement you two! I’m looking forward to your wedding in October!
