Winter Maternity Session | Angelina & Nate

A winter maternity session at Harkness Memorial State Park with one of my favorite wedding couples? YES PLEASE!! I first met Angelina and Nate when I photographed their wedding so it was a blast getting to document the next stage of their journey.

Angie had a vision of a rocky beachy coastline for the backdrop, so I suggested Harkness because of its extensive lawns with rugged, sweeping views of the Long Island Sound. It’s winter in New England, so even though we all know to expect cold, not everyone is up for trekking out in the snow (pregnant!) for some photos. Angie and Nate were up for the challenge and the results were spectacular. The drama of the dress against the snow, the water meeting the rocks, a young couple awaiting their new arrival — loved it all!

The AMP Client Closet

Wardrobe for maternity shoots can be tricky. Gowns are pricey and not always an investment you want to make for something you may only wear once. I get it, which is why I have a client closet for just this reason! I try to have everything on hand to make a shoot as seamless as possible with options that will flatter both the client and the backdrop. Angie took advantage of the Alison Marie Photography client closet. With its deep jewel tones, her crown and dress were the perfect contrast to the white snow and the colors of the setting sun.

Check out some of my favs from Angie & Nate’s winter maternity session below.

Congratulations you two! I’m looking forward to meeting your little one!
